5SDF0860H0003 is ABB 800V StakPak press-pack soft fast recovery freewheeling diode, matched with dedicated water cooling mounting frame 3BHL000397P0001 as a complete power stack unit. It is matched with medium voltage IGCT to form full rectifier/inverter bridge arms for medium & small capacity power converters. Hermetic ceramic press-pack housing eliminates internal solder layers, delivering excellent thermal cycling fatigue resistance; the device fails in short-circuit mode to avoid generator loss-of-field runaway risks in power plant excitation systems. Soft recovery characteristic drastically reduces switching reverse recovery losses, lowering cabinet heat generation under 24/7 full load continuous operation. Mainly applied in small/medium unit GE EX2100 static excitation converters, also widely used in wind power grid-connected converters, medium voltage rolling mill & mine variable frequency drives. Integrated water cooling base plate supports 860A continuous rated current stable output.
